Operational Design of Experiments (STAT)

Course start:
Mon 6th November 2017
Course end:
Fri 10th November 2017
Individual price:
$4,400.00
Course location:
Adelaide (Mawson Lakes)

This 5 day course provides staff (working in test-related fields) with the skills to apply a range of powerful tools and methods to maximise the return on investment from their test program and is delivered by Dr Mark Kiemele.

The course demonstrates why Design of Experiments (DOE) is the most effective and efficient means to conduct testing of complex systems (including operator and environmental factors).  DOE techniques allow the user to either achieve their existing test objectives with a greatly reduced test scope, or conversely allow the user to achieve so much more within the original schedule and budget.  The course covers the activities that must precede a DOE including the first line of defence against variation and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).  Testing strategies such as screening, modelling and confirmation are discussed along with how they fit into an integrated developmental and operational testing strategy.

The course is highly suited to those working in the field of verification and validation for complex systems and can be used towards Green Belt Accreditation in Design for Six Sigma through Air Academy Associates.

Breakthrough Performance using Design for Six Sigma

Course start:
Mon 13th November 2017
Course end:
Fri 17th November 2017
Individual price:
$4,400.00
Course location:
Adelaide (Mawson Lakes)

Great systems don’t come by accident - they are the result of a systems engineering process that seeks the right solution for a customer’s need. How quickly and efficiently this answer is reached however often varies for many reasons. If you work in an environment where cost, schedule and capability all count, then this course is for you.  This 1 week hands-on workshop with Dr Mark Kiemele teaches the Identify, Design, Optimize, and Validate (IDOV) strategy for delivering better systems and services to customers faster and at a lower cost. The course uses the “Keep It Simple Statistically” (KISS) approach that includes many in-class examples and exercises. Participants have ample opportunity to practice what is taught to ensure they have a practical, working knowledge of the IDOV tools and methodology.

This course can be used towards Green Belt Accreditation in Design for Six Sigma through Air Academy Associates.

Multirate Signal Processing for Communications Systems

Course start:
Mon 4th December 2017
Course end:
Thu 7th December 2017
Individual price:
$2,800.00
Course location:
Adelaide (Mawson Lakes)

Presented by Professor Fred Harris - A multirate filter has embedded within its structure a mechanism to implement one or more sample rate changes as part of its signal processing task.

One might ask why one would want to change the sample rate? It was once suggested to me that  "We change sample rate because we didn’t do it right the first time ".  Cute, but not true! We change sample rate to reduce the cost or improve the performance of a signal processing task. One obvious driver for changing sample rate is the Nyquist criterion that directs us to select a sample rate that exceeds the signal’s two sided bandwidth.

Principles of Naval Weapons Systems

Course start:
Tue 6th March 2018
Course end:
Fri 9th March 2018
Individual price:
$2,800.00
Course location:
Adelaide (Mawson Lakes)

Mathematic expressions are kept simple such that a quick understanding of the relationships and trade-offs of different performance factors can be appreciated and determined. Considerations on how the differing elements of the Detect-to-Engage sequence could be analysed, judgments made and metrics used are also explored. All subjects will be treated in an unclassified nature.
