Mr Gavin Walker

Gavin is an industry leader in the field of MSG-3 and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM). His knowledge is based on a diverse professional background in military (Royal Air Force) and civilian aerospace where he has worked in a number of technician and engineering management roles. The diversity of his background allows him to provide relevant context to managerial and practical issues relating to MSG to a wide audience.

Gavin has complementary skill and experience in Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) Management within air and ground environments (military and civil) which included the application of Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA). He is conversant with a wide range of standards which include ASD S1000D, S2000M, MSG-3, JAP100C-22, JAP100C-20, Def Stan 00-60, Def Stan 00-45, Mil Std 1843, 1629A and 1388-2B.

Gavin is an experienced trainer and has delivered MSG-3 training to government and commercial customers across the globe including Europe and the US.

This four day course delivered by Mr Gavin Walker provides the student with a detailed understanding of the MSG-3 process, complemented with a sound knowledge of the underlying principles.

The course commences with a detailed introduction to the fundamentals of Maintenance Steering Group aims and historical origins. Students are provided with an understanding of reliability and failure characteristics theory, which is necessary to understand the logic, components and methodology of MSG-3. Separate modules cover MSG-3 specifics such as Structurally Significant Items (SSI), Zonal Maintenance and Lightning/High Intensity Radiated Field (L/HIRF) Analysis and much more.
